Deluxe Brows Aftercare

Deluxe Brows combines brow lamination, hybrid tint, and precision shaping into a single session. That means your aftercare needs to protect three treatments at once. This guide covers everything — from the critical first 48 hours through your rebooking schedule — so you get the longest-lasting results from every component.

First 24-48 Hours (Critical Period)

The lamination bonds and tint pigment are both settling during this window. Disrupting either one shortens your results across the board.

Avoid

  • Getting brows wet (shower, swimming, rain)
  • Steam, saunas, and hot showers
  • Sweating (gym, hot yoga, running)
  • Touching, rubbing, or scratching brows
  • Makeup on or around the brow area
  • Oil-based skincare or cleansers
  • Sleeping face-down on your pillow

Do

  • Gently brush brows upward into shape
  • Pat dry immediately if accidentally wet
  • Sleep on your back or side
  • Continue your normal routine below the brows

Tint Care: Preserving Your Colour

The hybrid tint component fades fastest during the first 2-3 washes. How you cleanse around your brows in the first week has the biggest impact on colour longevity.

Week 1

Minimal contact

Avoid washing directly over your brows. When cleansing your face, work around the brow area. If water runs over them, pat dry gently.

Week 2+

Sulfate-free only

Switch to a sulfate-free facial cleanser. Sulfates strip tint pigment significantly faster than gentle alternatives.

Ongoing

Protect from chlorine and salt

Swimming pools and saltwater accelerate tint fade. Apply a thin layer of petroleum jelly over brows before swimming to create a barrier.

Lamination Maintenance

Once the initial 48-hour window passes, your laminated brows are set. Maintaining the lifted, brushed-up look is straightforward with a simple daily routine.

Morning

Brush into shape

Use a clean spoolie to brush brows upward and outward. This reinforces the laminated direction and keeps hairs trained in place.

Evening

Apply nourishing oil

A small drop of castor oil or rosemary oil keeps brow hairs hydrated after the chemical processing. This prevents dryness and brittleness.

Weekly

Gentle cleansing

Cleanse the brow area carefully when washing your face. Avoid scrubbing or using exfoliating cloths directly over your brows.

Shaping Touch-Ups Between Appointments

The precision shaping from your Deluxe Brows session grows out naturally over several weeks. Resist the temptation to reshape at home.

  • Tweeze stray hairs only — isolated hairs clearly outside your brow shape are safe to remove
  • Don't reshape the arch or tail — even small changes can alter the proportions your technician created
  • Avoid waxing or threading at home — leave structural shaping to your next appointment
  • Brush daily to maintain definition — the lamination holds your shape, the spoolie refines it

Products to Avoid Near Brows

These ingredients affect both the lamination bonds and tint longevity — steer them away from your brow area entirely:

Oil-Based Removers

Dissolve lamination bonds and strip tint. Use micellar water or oil-free remover instead.

Retinol & Retinoids

Accelerate skin cell turnover near brows, pulling tint pigment out faster. Apply to the rest of your face only.

AHA/BHA Acids

Glycolic, salicylic, and lactic acids break down bonds and fade colour. Keep them below the brow line.

Exfoliating Scrubs

Physical exfoliants damage lifted hairs and scrub away tint. Avoid the entire brow area.

Chlorine & Salt Water

Both strip tint rapidly. Protect brows with petroleum jelly before swimming or use a swim cap.

Sulfate Cleansers

Harsh surfactants pull colour. Switch to a sulfate-free formula for your whole face.

Recommended Aftercare Products

  • Castor oil Nourishes and strengthens brow hairs after lamination processing
  • Rosemary oil Stimulates hair follicles and adds natural shine to tinted brows
  • Sulfate-free cleanser Preserves tint colour while keeping skin clean around the brow area
  • Clear brow gel Sets laminated brows in place during the day (use after the first 48 hours)
  • Spoolie brush Essential for daily brushing — keep a clean, dedicated one in your kit

Pro tip: Mix castor and rosemary oil at a 1:1 ratio for a simple evening brow serum. One drop per brow before bed keeps both the lamination and tint looking their best.

Rebooking Schedule

Because Deluxe Brows combines treatments with different lifespans, your maintenance schedule has two tracks:

3-4 Weeks

Tint touch-up (optional)

If you notice your hybrid tint fading and want to refresh the colour before your next full session, book a standalone tint top-up.

6-8 Weeks

Full Deluxe Brows session

Rebook the complete package — lamination, tint, and shaping — to maintain your look. Most clients at our Canley Vale studio settle into a 6-week rhythm.

Ongoing

Seasonal adjustments

You may need shorter intervals in summer (swimming and sun exposure fade tint faster) and can stretch slightly longer in cooler months.

Common Aftercare Questions

What if my brows get wet in the first 48 hours?

Gently pat dry with a tissue — don't rub. Brush brows back into shape with your spoolie. A brief splash won't ruin either the lamination or tint, but try to keep them as dry as possible during this window.

My tint faded faster than expected. Is that normal?

Some skin types hold tint pigment better than others. If your tint fades within 2 weeks, check that you're using sulfate-free products and avoiding the ingredients listed above. Oilier skin types tend to fade faster — your technician can adjust the formula at your next session.

Can I wear brow makeup after Deluxe Brows?

After the first 48 hours, yes. Use powder or pencil products rather than pomades or wax-based formulas, which can interfere with the lamination. Remove makeup gently with oil-free remover.

My brows feel dry or stiff — is that normal?

Some dryness is expected after the lamination processing. Consistent evening application of nourishing oil will restore moisture within a few days. If brows still feel brittle after a week, consider a keratin conditioning treatment.

When to Contact Your Technician

While rare, reach out to us if you experience any of the following:

  • Excessive redness or irritation lasting more than 24 hours
  • Swelling around the brow area
  • Visible hair breakage or loss
  • Allergic reaction symptoms (itching, hives, skin flaking)
  • Uneven tint that doesn't settle after 48 hours

Minor redness immediately after your session is completely normal — the combination of lamination solution and tint processing means slightly more sensitivity than a single treatment. This should subside within a few hours.
